A Delegation Led by Steven Chong, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam, Visited Shanghai Financial Court

On the afternoon of September 11, a delegation led by Steven Chong, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam, visited Shanghai Financial Court. Zhao Hong, President of Shanghai Financial Court, expressed warm welcome to Steven Chong and his delegation, and briefed the guests on the relevant work of the court.

President Zhao Hong said that Shanghai Financial Court is the first financial-specialized court in China. Over the past six years since its establishment, a number of typical cases of rule-setting significance have been tried, a series of financial trial and enforcement mechanisms have been created, and, based on the financial trial function, services and support for the implementation of national financial strategy and the construction of Shanghai International Financial Center have been provided. It is hoped to take this visit as an opportunity to strengthen financial and judicial exchanges and mutual understanding of each other, and contribute to the deepening of economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.

Steven Chong expressed his deep impression of Shanghai Financial Court, and financial justice technology achievements such as the Securities Investor Protection Chamber (SIPC) are cutting-edge and exemplary on a global scale. He hoped to further strengthen exchanges with Shanghai Financial Court to enhance mutual co-operation and development.

During the visit, Steven Chong and his delegation visited the Litigation Service Center, Digital Court and Information Center of Shanghai Financial Court, experienced the court¡¯s Smart Case Filing, Online Court Trial, Court Trial Demonstration and Examination System, and SIPC, and watched a film on the development process of the court. An English version of compilation of cases of Shanghai Financial Court was presented to Steven Chong and his delegation.
