On November 16, the 2023 Academic Symposium of the Financial Adjudication Theory Professional Committee under the Judicial Theory Research Association of the China Law Society was held in Shanghai. It was presented by the Financial Adjudication Theory Professional Committee under the Judicial Theory Research Association of the China Law Society and the Shanghai High People's Court, organized by the Shanghai Financial Court, and co-organized by the Shanghai Law Society. The theme of this symposium was "Judicial Safeguards for the High-Quality Development of Finance."
Liu Guixiang, Justice, Standing Member of the Supreme People's Court Adjudication Committee, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. Jia Yu, Director of the Financial Adjudication Theory Professional Committee under the Judicial Theory Research Association of the China Law Society, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Shanghai High People’s Court, and Jiang Ping, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Shanghai Law Society, delivered speeches. Zhang Wen, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Beijing Financial Court, He Dongning, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Chengdu-Chongqing Financial Court, Cheng Hehong, Party Secretary and Director of the Shanghai Office of China Securities Regulatory Commission, and Zhao Hong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Shanghai Financial Court, addressed keynote speeches.
In-depth discussions covered hot-debated legal issues under the background of registration-based IPOs and difficult legal issues in asset management disputes. Wu Jinshui, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the Shanghai High People's Court, presided over the keynote speech. Lin Xiaonie, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the Shanghai Financial Court, summarized the meeting. Shan Suhua, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the Shanghai Financial Court, and Zhu Chuan, Director of the Financial Adjudication Division of the Shanghai High People's Court, presided over the discussions. Personnel adjustments in the Financial Adjudication Theory Professional Committee were also announced.
Over 130 participants attended the symposium, including representatives from the Supreme People's Court, some high and intermediate courts nationwide, financial specialized courts and tribunals, the Shanghai Law Society, the Shanghai Arbitration Commission, financial regulatory agencies, important financial infrastructure, and small and medium-sized investor protection organizations, together with related personnel from financial industry associations, experts and scholars from higher education institutions, and representatives from the news media outlets.
